The VE Racelite

“See ya later alligator”

RaceLite - THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF TOUGH FOR EVERYDAY PADDLING, FITNESS AND ENDURANCE RACING EXCELLENCE.

  • VE RaceLite (RL) - Built for Racing Excellence

RaceLite is our lightest kayak, crafted from Carbon, Kevlar, and Innegra for speed. Weighing approximately 12.5-13kg, it's designed for performance, but being lighter, it's less robust than the VE Hybrid and VE Cross models. Priced from $4350, including GST, the RL offers great value while delivering top-notch speed and stiffness. Though tough, it’s best suited for those prioritising weight over ultimate durability.

Please note that these kayaks are meticulously handcrafted, and as such, minor weight variations may occur.

  • The RaceLite (RL) is designed for competitive paddlers who prioritise speed and lightweight performance.

Ideal for racers seeking to gain every possible advantage in endurance river races, and competitive club events, and maximum efficiency for the athlete.

The RL is perfect for those who demand a kayak that can cut through the water with minimal resistance.

While it’s still tough, its lightweight construction makes it best suited for experienced paddlers who are comfortable with handling a kayak that sacrifices some robustness for agility and speed.

The RL is for those who are ready to push their limits and leave the competition behind.

Features of an Ocean Ski?

Tensioner Foot Pedal System

The tensioner allows for micro adjustments in the cable tension as needed. A system more easily adjustable on the go.

If you have the flexibility you can adjust yourself or get a paddling partner to adjust it on the go in seconds.

Single Strap or Individual foot straps are options for your comfort.

Customise Colours

From Nose to Tail, Skeg to Housing, Bucket to Seam. All composite parts and components are made in our factory to your vision.

Storage Function - Rear Bungy

Bungy cord cross over rear of the cockpit. This location enables you to store your equipment rear of the ski enabling the ability to trim the boat for long journeys.

Multiple Rudder Options

Surf Skeg (Under Rudder) for swell/surf conditions - included

*Stern Rudder for River, Estuary Obstacle conditions - optional extra, not included

*Flat Water Skeg (Smaller Under Rudder) for Estuary/small swell conditions - optional extra, not included.

Internal Handle in Cockpit Bucket

Handles in the forward part of the bucket for front hand grip when carrying.

Venturi (Standard) or Bailer

The Venturi is a drain hole at the bottom of the ski that draws the water out of the cockpit area as you paddle. The faster your speed the faster your flow rate.

*For the adventurers - a Bailer in section allows for more versatility. If impacted from beneath the drain simply closes. Just reopen it and carry on. Ideal for shallows and river conditions. Ideal if you intend to use the Stern Rudder option.

HOW WE MADE IT...

Construction is Carbon / Kevlar without a core. This keeps a little give in the boat so that it is far more durable than those with a honeycomb/foam core which makes them very stiff but very fragile – Andrew developed this build over 20 years of making downriver capable kayaks and we’ve been improving it ever since. The latest change is upgrading to Vinyl-Ester (VE) resin.

Why a VE Ski?
