JKK Care

JKK Kayaks Upgrades & Refurbishment

Welcome to our JKK Kayak service suite! We understand the joy of keeping these boats in the market and that they are becoming rare, but we also recognise that they need recoating every 3-5 years due to the lack of UV protection in epoxy resin. That's why we offer a solution to extend the life of your used JKK Kayak through our refurbishing service. Our team of experienced technicians will bring your kayak back to shiny glory, ensuring that it survives with confidence for years to come. We use high-quality materials to repair any damage before restoration to ensure it’s strong as well as sealed. With our affordable and reliable service, you can continue to enjoy the beauty of nature from the comfort of your refurbished kayak.

Refurbishment Services

  • From This

When your JKK Kayak starts to look faded and matted, furry or makes you itchy when you touch it it’s high time to get it re-coated.

There are caveats as to what is doable or worth doing depending on the history of the boat and how it has been treated.

Get in touch with us to discuss any damage repairs or past treatment that may need mitigating.

We are also experts at insurance assessments and claim handling to help you get the right solution.

  • Done Right

We don’t just “slap on another layer of epoxy”. We have the fully equipped factory to sand back the old beyond a light sand, then clean and prepare the surface to get a great bond with the new coat.

*this is an example of a recently refurbed hull. It may not be identical due to the prior condition of your kayak.

  • Existing fittings & stickers

We’ll to our best to work around existing fittings or remove and reinstall when possible.

We’ll even try to prep and preserve your current stickers or replace with new ones as close to identical to the old as possible.

See below for our full list of services we offer for JKK Kayak Upgrades.

Our JKK Kayak Service List

  • Price starting from, for 1 of Hull or Deck - $399.00 incl GST

Hull and Deck (whole exterior) $699.00 incl GST

Terms + Conditions: Due to the nature of this service being dependent on the condition of the kayak when it arrives results may vary. We cannot be held responsible for the final outcome. Ultimately, your boat will be strong and sealed ready for the future and value added to your boat.

  • $75.00 incl.GST

We’ll remove your steel cables and tired tubes and replace with Vectran Cord and new tubes.

The downside of steel cables is if something happens to them on the river and they snap, there’s nothing you can really do easily to fix it on the go.

Vectran cord, however, is tie-able. We’ll ensure there’s spare at each end so that if it does ever fail near the rudder or foot straps a temporary quick fix is a permanent one. Easy to untie, pull through and re-tie.

  • $300.00

We often replace worn out JKK seats with Flow seats for their comfort and reinforcement. Enquire for more details. You can even choose a colour!
