Meet our new Technology Partner - EMDA
Leading manufacturing and distribution ERP system provider partners with high performance sports equipment manufacturer.
Founded and operated in Christchurch, EMDA serves the manufacturing and distribution sector in Australia and New Zealand, with the backing of Infor’s leading ERP software.
As of Monday 30 January 2023, EMDA joined forces with Flow Kayaks to demonstrate the full capability of their ERP solutions with a growing manufacturing company entering the global stage.
Flow Kayaks is a bespoke composites manufacturing specialist that takes raw materials, such as Carbon Fibre and Kevlar, and transforms them into high-performance racing kayaks, surf skis, wing paddles and other related components.
“Over 90% of the product that goes out of our facility was manufactured by us from raw materials. Of the parts we don’t manufacture, over 90% of our suppliers are New Zealand companies with everything that can possibly be New Zealand made sourced and custom-made for us by other SME’s. This makes for complex coordination of sourced parts, quality control, and timing of stock and shipping. Partnering with EMDA is a gamechanger for us to grow in the future as a domestic and export supplier of high-performance goods” says Chris Stagg, Director of Flow Kayaks, from their Christchurch manufacturing facility.
This complexity requires a system, such as what EMDA provides, to enable Flow Kayaks to sustainably connect their products to export locations around the world. In the past six months, Flow Kayaks has exported kayaks, surf skis and paddles to Switzerland, the USA and Australia.
“Working with Flow Kayaks at this early stage in their growth means that we can, progressively, fully integrate our solutions' potential and demonstrate the extent of Infor’s leading ERP software” says Tim Lynskey, CEO of EMDA.
EMDA has committed a Business Analyst full time to develop the back-end systems and processes at Flow Kayaks. Ultimately, the staff and customers will benefit from these developments in the future.
This is a developing story.
